BTF - Beauty Tip Friday ~ Volume 1

Welcome to the first installment of BTF - BEAUTY TIP FRIDAY

Each Friday I'll create an entry based upon my industry. To begin this correctly instead of jumping in and talking about the great products everyone should try I want to first begin by talking about the needs of your hair.

The first question everyone typically asks me is "Is there really a difference between the $2 Suave shampoo and the more expensive brand I buy from my stylist.?" Answer: Yup!!

Not only are the product you purchase from your stylists geared toward having the most healthy hair possible, but you are purchasing them from a professional who can best recommend the correct product for your type of hair. When you have those "bad hair days" they are not because you have stubborn hair, but because you are using the wrong product for your hair type.

Do you know your hair type? Do you know how to tell your hair type? Your hair type will dictate the needs of your shampoo, conditioner, styling products & finishing products. That being said lets talk about just that. Hair type: thin, fine, thick, coarse, curly, straight, ethnic. Sounds simple right? Well it is, but do you realize that you can have thick hair, but a fine strand. You may as well have thin hair with a coarse strand. Follow these rules - FIRST ask your stylist what kind of hair you have. However, lets say that you have never asked your stylist what type of hair you have. Follow these guidelines (and these are guidelines only) Thin = amount of hair on your head, Fine = how thin the strand is (baby fine), Thick = amount of hair you have on your head, Coarse = thickness of strand, Curly, Straight and Ethnic should explain themselves.

Each week I will highlight a new product from the product lines I handle. I will describe the background of product as well as what hair it is best for.

Send me your questions - I'll post an answer!

Hotel Living

Ah the joys of hotel living.

  1. Someone makes my bed every morning for me.
  2. They take out all the trash everyday
  3. Free fresh bagels, muffins, & fruit with coffee or OJ every morning and I didn't have to make any of it!!!
  4. A daily swim, followed by a sit in the hot tub to relax
  5. Laundry drop off service - drop off my clothes in the morning and they are cleaned and pressed by evening

and the one down side.....I miss the kids! Thank God they will be here with me next week during training. Shhhh don't tell my company. hehe

New Job Update

Well training is intense! So many products, so much information, too little time. I thought I might have time in the evening for a little shopping or maybe even a trip to see some friends that live here. Nope! Nada! For the past two nights I have been holed up in my hotel room studying one (yes just one) of the 2" thick binders.

Last night after studying for three hours decided I deserved a bottle of wine! So at least I got out and did a little exploring to find a place to buy some wine.

Maybe tonight I'll take a break and really write a decent blog. Sorry to everyone that I have not posted since moving my blog here, but with training it has been a bit overwhelming. I promise to get around to everyone soon.
